Privacy policy
The short version: this is a research site. Reading it does not require an account or a form, we do not sell or share personal information, and the only personal information we hold is what you email us plus a small number of quote requests submitted before September 2026, which we keep only as records.

Who we are
Siding Quotes Near Me (“we”) publishes guides, calculators, and state and city reference pages about siding. We are not a contractor and we do not refer homeowners to contractors. Questions about this policy go to privacy@sidingquotesnearme.com.
What we collect
When you visit any page: our own page counter records the page path, the referring page, your browser type, your country, and a hashed version of your IP address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and collects usage data under Google’s privacy policy. Neither is used to build advertising profiles of you.
When you email us: whatever you include in the message.
Calculators and tools: the numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.
Email sign-ups: the site used to offer a sign-up for new-guide emails. We never sent any and no longer take sign-ups. Addresses collected earlier are held unused and deleted on request.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or other sensitive personal information, and we do not offer photo uploads.
Quote requests submitted before September 2026
Until September 2026 this site offered a quote-request form. A small number of homeowners submitted one. For each of those requests we hold the name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and project details that were entered, the consent wording agreed to, and the technical details of the submission.
Those requests are retained only as records. They are not sold, shared, or passed to any contractor or lead partner, and they will not be. We keep them so that we can respond if a submission is ever questioned, for up to five years from submission, and then delete them. If you submitted one and want it deleted sooner, email privacy@sidingquotesnearme.com from the address you used, or include the phone number you used, and we will delete it.
How we use what we collect
- To answer your emails.
- To run, secure, and improve the site: rate limiting, blocking abuse, and understanding which pages and tools are useful.
- To keep the pre-September-2026 quote requests as records, as described above.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell or share personal information. We have no lead partner, no contractor network, and no advertising partners that receive personal information. We do not sell or share site usage data, emails you send us, earlier email sign-ups, or the earlier quote requests, and we do not sell anything to data brokers or marketing lists.
Service providers. We use hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under contract. They may not use it for their own purposes.
Business transfers. If the site is sold, merged, or transferred, the records described on this page may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction. The new owner must honor this policy for information collected under it, or notify you before using it differently.
Legal. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of readers or us.
Opting out and Global Privacy Control
Because nothing is sold or shared, there is no sale to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we honor it: Google Analytics does not load, and our own page counter honors Do Not Track as well. The Do Not Sell or Share page says the same thing in the form some state laws expect.
How long we keep it
- Pre-September-2026 quote requests: up to five years from submission, then deleted; sooner on request.
- Earlier email sign-ups: held unused; deleted on request.
- Page-count analytics: the hashed IP rotates daily; aggregate counts are kept indefinitely.
- Emails to us: as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the correspondence.
Your rights
If you live in California, or in another state with a consumer privacy law (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and get a copy.
- Delete it, with limited exceptions such as keeping a record needed to respond to a legal claim.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right is yours.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@sidingquotesnearme.com from the address you used, or include the phone number you used, so we can match the request to our records. That is how we verify you. We respond within 45 days. An authorized agent may submit a request for you; we will ask for proof of their authority. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response. We operate only online and have a direct relationship with you, so email is our request method.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect, sell, or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Cookies, Do Not Track, and analytics
The public site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies when it loads; it does not load if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Our own page counter honors Do Not Track as well. Admin pages use a login cookie that only staff see.
Security
Data is stored with hosting and database providers that encrypt it in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who run the site. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
This site is for homeowners and home buyers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
When our practices change, we update this page and the effective date at the top. If we ever start collecting personal information for a new purpose, this page will say so before it happens.
Effective September 11, 2026. This policy is consistent with the disclosures on the About and Terms of Service pages.
